| The UWS was formed in 1998 and it is a membership, non-governmental organization engaged in environmental policy research, advocacy, education and awareness programmes. The Society's mission is to promote conservation of wildlife and the environment. This is achieved through: Providing forum for addressing, advocating and debating conservation issues; Providing informed and non-biased information to the government on environmental issues in Uganda; Seeking to influence policy formulation for better environmental management; Raising awareness about the environment and wildlife. The Society works with the Government of the Rebublic of Uganda, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs). Persons, Institutions (National, Regional and International) who are engaged in natural resource management programmes and Local communities. |
